Ostrava
Ostrava, located in the north-east of the Czech Republic, just 15km from Poland, is the third largest city of the country with a population of around 300,000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the Moravian-Silesian region. Not as small as Olomouc, yet not as big as Prague, enjoys both the safety and cosiness of a small town as well as the modern facilities of a major one.
Ostrava is another jewel city of the Czech Republic with picturesque views and culture spread all over the city. It is situated on the junction of four rivers, Odra, Opava, Ostravice and Lucina. Theatres and galleries are found everywhere. Restaurants, bars and clubs exist in a huge variety and abundance to please any taste. Ostrava is home to two public universities, the VSB Technical University and the University of Ostrava.
