2nd Faculty of Medicine Charles University
Charles University in Prague was founded in 1348 by Emperor Charles the 4th and is the oldest university to be found in Europe.
The 2nd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University is among the most famous in the world. It is located at Motol University Hospital, which is the largest University Hospital in the Czech Republic and where are treated more than 1 million patients per year.
It is one of the largest and most modern hospitals in Central Europe. It employs more than 3000 people, of which about 800 are doctors. Being a University Hospital, most of the members of the Academic Staff publish studies in international scientific journals and many of them have won national and international awards. Medical students have the ability to work and gain experience during their studies with doctors at various hospital clinics such as Human Genetics, Oncology, Pediatrics, Hematology, Gynecology, Cardiology, Neurology, Stomatology and Pediatric Cardiology.
Charles University medical faculty graduates have the unique opportunity to continue with their specialization in the Czech Republic just after graduation or choose any country of their preference where they would like to continue with their specialization. All courses and lectures are in the English language.
The Medical Faculty has approximately 1500 students. Each year the English-speaking department of the University accepts about 90 students for the Medical School, of which about 85% successfully complete their studies.

Students or qualified doctors have the opportunity to participate in an exchange program with other medical schools and hospitals in Central Europe through the IFMSA program.
The entrance examination consists of a multiple-choice test on Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Logic Test and an Interview at the end. All candidates who score 70% and above will be admitted to the University.
The course of General Medicine lasts 6 years and graduates obtain the degree of Doctor of General Medicine (M.D.)The tuition fees for General Medicine are 330,000 Czech crowns (about 12,500 Euro)
